Child Welfare

This training was developed to assist Child Welfare (CW) caseworkers (i.e. foster care, preventive, voluntary agencies) with families where domestic violence (DV) and child abuse and maltreatment overlap. This training is not for CPS or ACS caseworkers. It does not satisfy the requirement for CPS workers' mandated domestic violence training.

The training program teaches CW caseworkers to assess for and respond to domestic violence, discuss safety planning with the non-offending parent (NOP) and evaluate the effectiveness of various interventions.

The program provides a comprehensive overview of the role of CW caseworkers in DV cases, and the impact of DV on the safety of NOP and children. Specific topics include:
