This event will bring together public safety, security, law enforcement, and other staff who interact directly with survivors and victims at both public and private colleges across the state.
It's no secret sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking are occurring on campuses at high rates, and we must do more to reverse these trends.
The New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (OPDV), in partnership with the Division of State Police, is hosting the first ever NY College Public Safety Symposium. This one-day, free of charge event is being held at the New York State Police Academy in Albany on March 5, 2025.
During this symposium, attendees will be presented with information to help support them in their response and prevention efforts to gender-based violence on campus, with a focus on making sure the needs of student survivors is at the forefront of their work.
