Introduction
The NYS Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, in collaboration with the NYS Department of Health, has created this recorded training to assist hospitals with compliance with Public Health Law 2805-z, which took effect on December 23, 2020. The purpose of the training is to meet the hospital’s requirements for training their staff on domestic violence. This training provides all hospital clinical staff with information on how to identify and treat patients who are victims of domestic violence. It is available for hospitals to use as domestic violence training for staff as referenced in Section VII (B) of the Model Policy (see “Dear Administrator Letter” released on August 11, 2021). For more information, please see the NYS Department of Health's Frequently Asked Questions.
